Default Open source office software

Anyone used "Open Office" - claims to be compatable with most of MS Office programs like Word, Access etc.

Need to load office software onto 5 new PCs in my warehouse but am baulking at the cost of the latest MS product.

Is open offfice any good and, more importantly, is it genuinely compatable?

Use it all the time. Takes a bit of getting used to, but almost identical. Opens all MS Office stuff and saves the same as opened, or as their own.

Also has PDF built right in, full PDF, with all security, watermark, etc, not just the freebie and cheapie stuff.

Go for open office. As the people get used to it, next time you need to put office software on PC's they will want openoffice.

Me I use Vista Pro, with Office 2007 - But im used to it!
