Default Co-Founder of Microsoft quits

Quote:
REDMOND, Washington (Reuters) - Bill Gates said a teary goodbye on Friday to Microsoft Corp, the software maker he built into the world's most valuable technology company based on the ambitious goal of placing a computer on every desk and in every home.

He leaves Microsoft, which he co-founded with childhood friend Paul Allen in 1975, to focus on his philanthropic organization, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the world's largest charity, funded in part by his vast fortune.

I used to work in the Care Industry, heloing to run a home in Somerset. Where I was based we had a client, who happened to have an God Father - yes you guessed it Mr Bill Gates.

Bill Gates used to fly down in one of his helicopters whenever he was in the UK to visit.

Me bing me, decided that it was only fair to put linux on the clients PC. But got a massive telling off, and had to put it back to windows!

It turns out that the client I had, his mother happened to be part of the starting team with Mr Gates when Microsoft started.

... He wouldn't give me any free software!

He still officially owns the company, and is still chairman. Its just that Ballmer has taken over.

He has raised/given over £20bn to charity. Fair play.

Quit is a too stronger word, he has basically stepped down to use his talent raising money for developing countries.

Thanks Saajan

I didn't know about that. Suppose it too much for him. He should retiring and live a happy life.

Every picture I have seen of Bill Gates, he doesn't look happy to me.
