I think it's a cultural thing. Maybe there cars don't hurt in Sweden?

This was on BBC1 this evening. The two women were coked out on something, probably LSD. One of the women who ran into the road got one day in prison. Both survived despite one of them being hit twice by two different vehicles and one being hit at 70mph by an HGV. 15,000 cars caught up in 20 miles of tailbacks on the M6 I believe, all at the expense of the tax payers. Yet more evidence of the lacking justice system here in the UK.

I agree, they should've been given at least fines to cover the costs of the police, ambulance, damage to vehicles and compesation to the drivers who hit them

Most definitely. I would endorse a prison sentence too, six months minimum to let them think about what they did and the trouble they caused. I mean, how selfish can you be to put innocent members of the public through that? The poor HGV driver who mowed one of the women down was in utter disbelieve after the accident, what about him?

I wouldn't have the patience nor the self-control to be a Police officer with the justice system the way it is in the UK.
