You got it! Did you ever taste it? A sweet and cool fruit.

In Chinese, we called it "fire dragon fruit" Huo Long Guo. It is one of my favoriate fruits.

Here is the info from wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pitaya

A pitaya (pronounced /pɨˈtaɪə/) or pitahaya (/ˌpɪtəˈhaɪə/) is the fruit of several cactus species, most importantly of the genus Hylocereus (sweet pitayas). These fruit are also known as dragon fruit (from Chinese huǒ lóng guǒ 火龍果/火龙果 "fire dragon fruit" and lóng zhū guǒ "dragon pearl fruit"), strawberry pear, nanettikafruit, and thanh long (Vietnamese 青龍). Native to Mexico and Central and South America, the vine-like epiphytic Hylocereus cacti are also cultivated in Southeast Asian countries such as Taiwan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Malaysia. They are also found in Okinawa, Hawaii, Israel, northern Australia and southern China. Hylocereus blooms only at night; they have large white fragrant flowers of the typical cactusflower shape, that are often called Moonflower or Queen of the Night. Sweet pitayas have a creamy pulp and a delicate aroma.

Can I ask what is with these threads asking if we know a chinese food or what they are doing? Just curious to see if there is a reason to all of this.

Are you interested in Chinese culture or Chinese people? So you can buy goods from China more smoothly?
