The trader rating on the left hand side shown in green or red dots. What does that signify or mean? Is red bad?

The dots are your rep points, people can rep you on how good/bad they thing that post is. You can find out if people have left you rep by clicking quick links at the top and then user control panel.

Trader rating is different and is for when people have bought or sold things on the forum.
