Just quit smoking. Not liking it a bit.
I am now on day 5 of quitting smoking cold turkey. I was never a very heavy smoker (5~10 a day) but really liked a drag when the stress came (as is very apt when you run a ecommerce site). When I was at home though I never smoked.
Basically, I guess I am coming down with withdraw, but only when I feel stress (and it has been even better since my son has been sick and spent last night crying for 6 hours).
Any you people know what I am talking about? Anyone ever go through this as well?
I am wondering if there are ways to get over "stress smoking", that don't involve eating, e-cigarettes (bwahahaha), patches, or loss of stress (since that is how I perform best).

Re: Just quite smoking. Not liking it a bit.
!@#$!@ the title should be quit. I blame lack of smoke (and quite not showing as a misspelled word in firefox)

Hmm i tried giving up but decided against it. I'm not a big smoker anyway, only a couple a day and when I have a drink.

Re: Just quit smoking. Not liking it a bit.
Ive tried a couple of times and failed, my downfall has as ways been the pub, 3 pints and im gagging for a fag. My girlfriend gave up, after reading a book on how to stop smoking, i think it had some subliminal messages in it.

Re: Just quit smoking. Not liking it a bit.
I went to the docs, saw the nurse and she prescribed me a course of champinex.
Before you take the course you set a stop date for a week in advance. You take the course, whilst smoking for the first week, then when the stop date comes stop the cigs and carry on the rest of the course.
The drug stops the wanting for nicotene and also makes any cigs taste seriously bad, so puts you off even when drinking down the pub.
I did the course about 1 year ago and went from 20 per day to zero.

Re: Just quit smoking. Not liking it a bit.
Hi,
I read a book by Allen Carr, years ago, and found it really easy to stop. I then found it really easy to start again! I went through this a few times, but since the pubs have barred smoking I think it is a lot easier when you try quitting as this used to be my occasional downfall after a few beers. You need to have the right mindset for this book to work, its not to everyone’s liking. Just seen it on Amazon and is highly recommended.

Re: Just quit smoking. Not liking it a bit.
I dont want to stop.
I smoke roll-ups and even though they are a pain as to not been able to pull one out the pack like cigs i still manage 20+ a day.
Its funny all my mums side smoke but my dads dont. Weird
