Google Checkout is available for the UK, as I'm using it

It's so easy to use, just a few pages only to checkout. If anyone is thinking using Google Checkout and needs help give me a pm.

In the last week, or so, a member here PM'd me about setting up a cart and I told him a few things to consider, including which payment methods he wanted to use. And I set up a "play around" CubeCart site for him to check out.

Well, he got back with me and said he liked the Cube Cart, and that he thought he'd go with Google Checkout. I wasn't sure the CC had implemented an option to use Google Checkout, so I went to their forum and found the quote below.

BTW - CC does not now have a Google Checkout option, although I'm sure there are some mods that will make it work. But they are coming out with a new version within the next month that will undoubtably have GC as one of the payment methods.

Here is the quote from the Cube Cart Forum -

just thought that I would share my view on Google Checkout. I run one of
the UK's top websites for a particular industry. We were among one of the
first online sites to have GC integration right from the launch date. Whilst
Google were offering the £10 off purchases over £30 we had around 20 orders
coming in daily as a result. I estimate that around 30-40% of these orders
were fraudulent. In no short time word was spread around the online fraud
community and more and more people were signing up and making purchases
through Google Checkout. One thing that was really obvious was that there
was no formal policing by Google regarding their £10 off £30 for first time
signup's rule. Basically customers would sign up under different Hotmail
accounts on a near daily basis, each time claiming their £10 off. I spoke to
someone at Google about it and they were very laid back, stating that very
few people were abusing the system (yeah right!).

Since the launch (now about two months ago) we have continued to receive
orders daily, which surprised me as I expected the orders to subside after
the offer finished. From these orders we can clearly see that some are
blatantly fraudulent. The benefit to us as a company is that we do not incur
charge backs from them, so out go the goods and Google are left to foot the
bill. There was definitely a change from Google about 3 weeks ago when we
started to see some orders being rejected by Google on the basis that they
were from known fraudsters, although I suspect a lot are still slipping
through the net. On a positive side it would appear that the fraudsters are
all going through Google Checkout and we have found a decrease in regular
charge backs as a result.

From an integration point of view, it's not very nice. From a marketing
point of view GC is terrible. We are not allowed to auto-opt customers email
addresses into our mailing list, and as a result of customers not having
accounts they loose out on all of our hard developed package tracking which
regular customer have. If it wasn't necessary to maintain a competitive edge
we would have dropped it immediately. From an accounting point of view it's
a total nightmare! Reconciliation of money at the end of every week is just
almost impossible. Considering that GC had been running for almost a year in
the US, the software has the feeling of a very, very early Beta version.

That's it in it's entirety. It was dated July 17, so it is topical, not something from the dust bin. I'll make no personal comment, just leave it for you all to consider. Or as we say here in Virginia "leave it for y'all to consider.)

Just a quick Question, Im looking for a Cart that can work with 2 sites, store product information Ie once the customer has selected a product they then got to the cart a select what size ect..and not be added in any way 2 my sites.
If you can Help thanks.

Ok, I need a cart that stands on it own sort of like a totaly seperate site if you like, but I want it to be able to store info like product sizes, so when someone clicks a link on my site for the product they want, it goes in to the cart, then I want them to have the option to pick the size they want from the cart, then proceed to payment, I have 2 sites so just to save messing about want just the one cart for both.

How many products do you have?

You are talking about having the products shown on two different sites, which means setting up categories, images, descriptions on both sites, then having links to the shopping cart where you are essentailly doing the same thing all over again.

One of the major benefits of most carts, opposed to a regular site is that the carrts automatically arrange and display your products in a logical manner. You can generally enter in any order and they show as they should.

With sites, for the most part, you have to build the page with static locations of the items, which can be quite time consuming.

Not bad if you are selling a few products, maybe a few dozen, even. But if you have hundreds of items, you will have quite a chore.

There is no problem linking to a cart. You can have a Buy Now type button that will take them from an item in your site to the item in the cart, where they can select size, color, etc. Creating options is a time consuming process with many carts, as you have to do it an item at a time. In this case, some of the items are available in several types, such as adult and kids tees, long sleev tees, tank tops, spaghetti straps and nightshirts. Also, some adults include size Small, most don't, some tank tops include XXL and XXXL, most don't, etc. It's literally an item by item process.

What you want to do can be done, but it may not be the best solution. The number of items wiull be a major factor.

Thanks for that, I see what you mean and but to a degree its my only solution, I also was hoping that I would have one which only had part of the info like just the size and item number, there will only be a few dozen Items as its quite specialist. Ill have a proper look through your cart when I get home.

Way too high! 2.49% is higher than most others that top out at about 2.29%. with some searching you can get down close to 2%.

28 cents is not bad, not that a penny or two per transaction is much, but the .2 % fee will add up.

So will the $ 24.95 per month fee. Most are $ 20, I personally pay $ 5 per month. If I would do zero sales in a month my total merchant account cost is $ 5.

It looks like you are hiding an affiliate link, since that's the main use of tinyurl. It could be that they have such hige fees so they can pay your commissions?
