But only with a credit card can you get satisfaction after initially accepting the goods. L/C and Escrow still basically depend on physical receipt, inspection and acceptance ot the goods.
With the chances of a chargeback, even something that develops during the initial use of the product can still be recitified. I have even managed to get a refund for a non-performing used motherboard sold in "as is" condition. I did not fight for the shipping charges, but I did get back the $ 30 or $ 40 I paid. I'm sure the seller figured it was better to give me a refund than go through the chargeback process, pay a chargeback fee and have a chargeback show on his record with the processor.
I'd never recommend using a chargeback as retribution, but they sure can be used for satisfaction. Something you can't do with Escrow or L/C.
