Default Trying To Get A Refund??

Hi Guys

I wonder if somone has any advise for me?

The situation is , I ordered some stock from a supplier in the USA ( I cannot name them at this stage). When the items arrived, it turned out they were fake and the paperwork which I was promised never arrived. I received 3 boxes of jeans. So immediately I informed the seller who was most apologetic and said that I should send the jeans back. ( but at my expense). I was prepared to do that just to get my refund.

When the jeans arrived back in the USA, they were held up in customs for a few days and the seller refused to pay the import duties even though I left all the original documentation on the boxes and stated that I was returning the goods etc. Eventually he agreed to clear the goods from customs but this was 2 weeks later.

I was then expecting my refund. The seller then e-mail me and asked how many boxes I had returned as he said he sent 4 out. I explained that I only ever received 3 boxes and had returned them all and why would I keep a box of his fake jeans?

Another week later and still he claims he sent 4 boxes and gave me the tracking numbers which don't have on-line tracking on them? He eventually said the refund would follow shortly.

Another week later and I asked him again where is my refund and now he is claiming that I only sent him 2 of the 4 boxes back. I have on-line tracking from my courier company to prove that 3 boxes were delivered.

As I am really wanting this refund back, I told him to at least refund the 3 boxes I sent back and we can sort out the missing 4th box at a later stage. But now is he refusing to issue any refund until I deliver the other so called 2 boxes to him ( 1 which was never delivered to me in the first instance and the other which was delivered to him)

I tried to file a complaint with paypal but they said as I originally received the goods ( but they were fake) they cannot help me.

I was thinking of going to my credit card company as I paid with that via paypal. But this supplier has told me if I go that route I will get nothing back?

Does anyone have experience of working with a credit card company to get money back and how successful is that?

Any advise would be appreciated?
Thanks
Belinda

Ive never had a problem getting my money back from a credit card company. I would ring them straight away m8 because the longer this goes on the more problems your going to have.

I agree with willow,
Get on the phone to your credit card company, The seller is trying to put you off, as when the credit card company go knocking for the money they have had to put back on your card then he'll be the one on the losing end, one for selling fakes(if credit card company report them) and two because you can come here and name and shame them so nobody else deals with the person.

Cheers
Dave

Thanks guys.

Just got off the phone with them now and they are looking into it.

Do you know what kind of documentation they are going to ask me for?

Thanks

All douments that you have got with reference to the orginal buying of the goods like your reciepts and where it states the goods he is selling to you are authentic and any proof that they are fake and print off you tacking numbers with the detailed info of him receiving the goods and any other pieces of evidence you have saying send it back and i'll refund you . i would get back on to paypal as well speak to a manger of theirs , paypal seem to wash there hands of everything
Good Luck

Belinda, contact ur credit card company. paypal are absolutely useless. If you contact ur CC company and have the details ready like boro said, you should have no trouble getting ur money back. I've experienced similar trouble before...
