You can't unfortunately. PayPal is the standard on eBay and without it your sales decrease and non payers will increase.

Nothing wrong with PayPal fees? You can't expect them to work for nothing. They are there to make money like you and I. Afterall 20p + 3.4% or less is hardly much to ask for a credit card merchant account with no monthly fees and you can receive the money in your account within 7 days.

Yes, they might. But they are the only game in town, and their rates are as good as you'll find.
Of course, I'm in the US and they are better here, as are the merchant accounts.
I got in a situation the other day where I could only get paid through moneybookers and was shocked at the additional costs involved. Feel sorry for you guys. Well, when I look at the exchnage rate, I don't feel too sorry.....

I think it's the attitude that's different there, Pete. greedyboy has mentioned in the past that customer service is taken as read in the States, whereas here it's a "let's screw the bastards" attitude form the average corporate, especially those old nationalised corporations with a (un)civil service attitude, here.
I imagine you'd accept a customer complaint as being an almost preordained chargeback, whereas traders here view it as unfair without first considering whether there's a reason. I would have thought the ideal situation would be somewhere in between but hey, who am i to judge? Let alone to change Paypal's MO.

quiet true.
I feel PayPal need to prop up their customer support in the UK and eBay too.
Just when I became an avid eBayer, thinking with PayPal nothing can go wrong, I decided to sell an Xbox 360 with 9 Games, clearly stating in the item listing, no unconfirmed address users & any with a feedback of lower than 5, contact me. Before you know it, the auction finishes. User with 3 feedback score and an unconfirmed address, when i mentioned to her, that I wouldnt send the console but would refund her, she reported me to eBay and then follow a huge exchange of emails, they helped, but not without taking the £16 or so of the final value fee
