Default Pease help, advice needed on CHAPS and CC!!!

I am in need of some advice and will appreciate everyones input.

I have been in contact with a supplier who will only accept T/T, bank transfer and other forms of payment which i find to be not very buyer friendly in case of it being a scam! he also suggested paying with CHAPS, i have done a little research on it but need some advice from someone who has actually used this service. Basically what i want to know is how safe is it, and if it does turn out to be a scam is there a process by which i can get my money back?

Also is bank transfer via credit card safe? or is it the same as normal bank transfer which is done at my own risk???

thanks in advance.

There is no such thing as bank transfer via credit card.

If you are buying ipods, consoles, phones etc it will be a scam.

CHAPS is an instant bank transfer (usually same day) so of course is risky like normal T/T, and he gets the money instantly

thanks for the quick replies guys

What i really need to know is that is there any way of me getting my money back when using CHAPS, if it is a scam? or does it have the same riskd as a bog standard bank tranfer, only difference being it gets there the same day?

p.s (greedy boy) is there no way of bank transfer via credit card? (or paying money into an account using my credit card?, if you can do this is it possible to do a chargeback?)

again thanks in advance.

No chance whatsoever.

You can't do a charge back on a cash advance plus you will pay high interest charges from the moment you withdraw the money.

It is better for you to do more due diligence on the supplier, or ask the supplier to provide you some references before making the payment.

As greedboy said, don't buy iPhone, iPod, consoles etc. hot electronics from unauthorized distributors. Other than that, T/T is not that risky, at least you know the beneficiary name, bank info.
