Default PayPal's 1700Pound Limit?

Hi

A while ago i got a email from paypal saying my account is limited as i have recived over 1700pounds in funds (i only recently recived 1400 in a short space of time, not over a year).

I provided a bank statement/driving license and waited for goods to be shipped then phoned up and gave them tracking numbers.

After talking to 2-3 people at paypal i dont think they will lift the restriction since they sent me the email saying 'Your business has to much risk, we would like to end our relationship etc' and it looks like my 1400pounds will be stuck in the account for 180 days!

I seriously think this is crazy, i pay stupid fees like this and they recently charged me 2 x 38pounds for no reason and now lock my account without a reson and hold my funds for about half a year.

After sending the appeal email a message today im not sure what luck i will have....Anyone have any suggestions? Should i sent them a faxed copy?

And finally, does anyone sell via eBay without using paypal? as i dont think ill be using paypal anymore (unless someone else recives funds and gives them to me - too dogey). And is there any advise you have for me after this?

Thanks.

First thing I would do is get you money out as quickly as possible! Withdraw it to your bank account before paypal freeze it!

It already is, thats the probleme.

If i knew paypal had this STUPID rule and they would freeze my account i would have made sure that i didnt recive the money or it went elsewhere....But thats too late and i was given no warning.

At the moment i can't send/deposit funds or close my account....Paypal sux...

Hi, i had this same message while ago from paypal, I was verifed and it only took a few days for them to sort it out, have you tried ringing them instead of email this way you can get things done more quickly and you can argue your case with them having to listen

Hi

Yes i am verified as well, i had 4 checks done against the account and everything was ok prior to this. The representatives on the phone all say 'Its a final decision' and generally isnt lifted although they advised me to try the email direct to them as its not the resolution centre which deals with it.

Did you have to provide supplier info?

I have been thinking for ages...And only thing i can think of is the fact that i had a probleme (quite a while ago) about a good i sold being counterfeit, I had said its a style version but obviously the buyer wasnt happy and he was refunded, that was a few months ago and this is the only thing i can think of for them to do this really.

Other than that 1 occasion i sold 5 laptops with all happy customers and they have dont this.

As i mentioned in original post, any advise for selling on eBay now? Any alternatives that would be viable if this isnt fixed?

Thanks

Paypal are a ripoff, their foreign exchange fees and transaction fees add up and the service is quite substandard in my opinion

only because you are not fully validated your account - sort of anti money laundry process.

After validating your account properly they will remove all limitations.

We had this problem, we had to prove we had stock. Then they unfroze it.

If you ring them, they are quite annoying, but you can get things resolved if you refuse to not leave without sorting out your problem.

They can't freeze money in your account, at the end of the day, its yours!

We had to prove that everyone who had purchased an item had receive it. This was quite annoying when there was about £1000 worth of transactions made up of £40 - £50 orders... In the end they gave in and let us have the account back...

Just ring them, give them a link to your feedback (if your selling on eBay) saying you have good feedback, prove you own stock and dont give up. They will unfreeze your account.
