If its a business account speak to HBOS and/or RBS, I know they were in the state, I used both but that was back in 1999/2000. I can also recommend the Clydesdale but not sure if they have anything Stateside, they offer better rates / charges than than HBOS, however with HBOS I get a Business manager who is very helpful and always on top of latest developments.

From recollection and a little experience you will have difficulty opening a UK bank account as a none resident, its not that easy as a resident to be fair. When my third wife came to live in the UK [she was chinese/japanese] she tried in vain to get a UK bank account, even though she could provide proof of identity [passport] she could not provide proof of address to their satisfaction [utility bill etc] even though she had mail from government departments [immigration etc] in her name. Seems as though the gas company has more weight than the british government. I got arround it by opening a new shop, getting the local tax and electricity supply put in her name then closing the shop before starting to trade. Their may be a business banking solution to this problem but that opens a whole new can of worms.

Just one quick question then. I wonder how hard it is to get a USA if you are based in the UK?
