As said above, get a freight forwarder - takes a lot of the hassle out of the whole process. There is a good un based in Livingstone I think it is and they get the fgreight shipped to Grangemouth and from there to your door. Where abouts are you out of interest?
Hey hardwareheroes, do you still have the name of this agent in Grangemouth, it might be worth checking them out. I did speak to one in L/pool as that is where some of the goods were coming into. That was fine but then there was a question about the supplier in China which Canada had found, (bank account not registered with company) so that was shelved.
I have two other probable shipments on the go, they are both destined for Glasgow. Apparently Edinburgh and Grangemouth were not available, not sure why. Is Leith still a busy port? and why would inbound ships pass Leith and head for Grangemouth, I assume there must be some benefits to the shipping companies? Maybe someone could suggest a shipping agent in Glasgow as an alternative. BTW do agents set charges on the size of the shipment, or do they just work with a standard rate. Do they put the goods through customs, pay the charges, then I pay them the charges and vat and their own bill? or what.
Any info appreciated
