Default China Bank Transfer - Stung ???

Met a supplier from Alibaba - company profile seems quite solid, website looks great, msn service & phone number, also address is legit... Paid via bank transfer & now being told that they haven't received my payment!

I paid from my Nationwide account using their "Swift" code & paid the £20 bank charge also, i was told it would take around 24 hours - so i'm guessing i've been stung like a bee as i paid on Monday (it is now Wednesday)?

Don't panic for a few more days. Plus it may have got there but their finance dept haven't told the sales department.

Ouch. Hope you didn't pay much. Always get your supplier interrogated by the folks on TWF!

Phew!!! thats put my mind at ease then (for now), value isn't that great - just a sample order before committing to larger quantities as i promise all China suppliers that my order size will grow upon each next order.

£20 is a bank average for probably a standard service, which takes +/- 3-5 working days.

Dont start worrying until friday/monday!

Your bank will also be able to track/trace the payment.

Also you should if you want in future to speed wire transfers up what ever bank they use i'm guessing HSBC open one yourself and transfers then are next day sometime even same day.

I still use the paper receipt based transfer. Why? Well factories use a copy of the receipt to start production. The thing is it is just a receipt ready to make the transfer, I then go to the bank 5 - 7 days later and use the receipt to make the TT.

Now i have all that lovely lolly sitting in my account for another 5 - 7 days
