Default Paypal Suspended My Account - advice

Hi All

I am wanting in on Guru's Ipod Nano group buy so I have got together with some others to raise the funds. 3 of them paid by Paypal, so yesterday I transferred their money to my bank.

I have received some payments for Ebay auctions overnight so I went into Paypal just now to see they have limited my account. They have reversed the transfer to the bank and asked to me to do two things.

1. Fax documentation proving I am me. That's easy enough.

2. Provide tracking details for a random selection of items.

Here is where I need some advice. I have tracking for only 2 of the items. Most of the others were low value sent first class. The rest were the payments taken for the Ipod deal.

Can anybody help with some advice as how to get this resolved?

I've had this happen to a couple of my paypal accounts. You need to get tracking numbers AND it needs to say its delivered. If you have to go out and send a blank letter with delivery confirmation, do it. Otherwise, your account will stay limited. They will not budge.

You need to catch them via phone. Forget email its a waste of time with Paypal.

Ring them up and say your calling regarding the account freeze and would like to sort it out now.

Give them your tracking numbers and then send on the fax. They should then re-activate your account.

HTH,

If you can when you phone up make sure you speak to someone from Dublin and not the US call centre. I don't know why Paypal even allow the US call centre to deal with UK customers as they don't have a clue.

Even if you supply tracking, they might suspend your account and hold your money for 180 days. Because you might be a "chargeback" risk in their eyes.

good luck homes..what beauty addiction said sums up everything..

For about $300 bux, you can get payflow pro from verisign..trusted company..i think you have to be a business though in order to use payflow...great for ebay auctions..

you'd also have to learn some tricks of the trade accepting your own credit card payments..not a nice world at all...

like, making sure the billing address and shipping address are exact and do not, i repeat, do not ship to any other alternate shipping address other than the billing address..saves you a whole lot of headaches..if they insist that you ship to the alternate address, have them contact the credit card company and have owner of the card to change the billing address to the shipping address desired..this is to be sure that you are dealing with the genuine card holder, and not some shmuck who stole a credit card and orders a whole bunch of ish on the card..

good luck with your paypal situation though..your pretty much screwed..paypal is judge, jury, and executioner..

you could probably find some help using these sites..

www.nopaypal.com

www.paypalsucks.com

again, goodluck on your situation with paypal...they're a bunch of crooks if you ask me..they pool all the funds that they have in the limited accounts and open a high interest bearing account and you see non of the interest...hence, the reason why they hold your money for 180 days..not for chargebacks..just so they can earn interest on it..it's burried in their TOS..wish could remember the exact paragraph..
