Hi

im currently in contact with a supplier from Hungary , for some products , im trying my hardest for him to accept a safe method of payment .He said he cant accept paypal or escrow in hungary as he can only open a send money account and not a recieve money account Is that true does anyone know ? Is it hard in Hungary to accept credit card payments

He will accept wire transfer , with a 30% deposit , and 70 % upon AWB slip

Whats an AWB slip , and what do you guys think ?

Don't know what an AWB slip is, however, asking for 30% or 50% upfront and the balance on delivery is a common tactic of scammers. I don't know of any legit suppliers that function that way. I would be VERY careful here.

not sure what that slip is??

but the escrow thing is rubbish! go to www.escrow-europa.com if you go on the registration page you can select hungary as your country of residance.

there is no reason why anyone from hungary would not be able to use an escrow service!

i would ask him why he cant and see what he says, but be carful as it sounds like it may be a scam.

i was under the impression that Dun & Bradstreet was for US companies only? if it is, then what the heck is a hungarian company doing on there?

How reliable is D and B?
If they are listed is that enough?
or when using D and B to verify a company you need to purchase a report.

I would think that being listed is not that hard to do.

thanks.
