Hi I wonder if I could ask a bit of advice please.

I have a customer in South Africa wanting a delivery the package will be 20-25kg in weight standard box size which all carriers take. Now would it be cheaper to book the shipping in this country being the UK to ship or if they booked their end to have the parcel collected.

I know this sounds strange but I know an airline ticket bought in this country to fly my mother over from Australia is cheaper than her paying her end hence why I am asking.

Also does any-one know cheap freight carriers please as I am assuming sending via ship is cheaper than Airmail but it's the time difference getting there that may be a problem.

Thank you in advance

A package that small is best handled by a courier (DHL/FedEx/UPS), rather than Air Freight, and definately don't ever send something that small via Ocean LCL...

What? A Freight Forwarder saying "ship it courier?"

And they can check from their end. If they have an account with someone like UPS, etc. they may get a discounted rate.

In my experience shipping from Hong Kong, my rates are always better then my customers', even if they have an account.

One good thing about billing to them on their account, they know you are not jacking up the shipping charges.
