Hey guys,

Anybody have any idea what this issue is and how I could go about solving it?

Unfortunately, this bank account cannot be used for Direct Debit by PayPal because it does not presently accept electronic transmission of the instruction required to set up the Direct Debit.

Not got a clue and been racking my brains why it isn't working ,

Thanks in advance,
Ben

That was the only reason I could think of.

Is it a savings account because they don't work on Paypal anymore unless like paypal says you can set up DD with it.

Not a savings account, a current account. The card is compatible with Pin and chip.

What that means is, a bank will let you set up a direct debit online, so you don't have to fill out one of those direct debit forms you would normally get through the post.

I would speak to your bank and see whay they don't allow you to set up a direct debit instruction online.

I think I'm going to have to give them a visit tomorrow, I think there's an HSBC branch open near here and ideally want to get this sorted ASAP.

This happened to me 2 years ago, HSBC told me at the time it wasn't down to them something to do with PayPal, PayPal told me that it wouldn't accept the type of account...how can It not accept a 'HSBC Currrent Account'?

I ended up opening another Current Account at the SAME bank...and the funny thing is that it worked, very strange,

This was 2 years agi so im sure they have solutions for it now... let us know how it goes
