Hey everyone

Ordered an item from HK a couple of days ago, and item was shipped out today using UPS. Received my tracking number, but when I went into UPS website to track order I got the following message: 'UPS could not locate the shipment details for your request. Please verify your information and try again later'. I'm not sure if it's because it was only shipped out today but I thought tracking was pretty good with these courier companies. I know with FedEx you can track your order pretty well right up until you receive your goods.

Anybody had a similar experience?!

It can sometimes take around 3 days for tracking to show

Yep, I found it took a day or two to show any tracking details...

The code is often issued when the package is prepared for delivery, but no real information shows until the package has actually been scanned by the system.

It could still be with them and awaiting pick up, you often have airway bills available on you to prepare shipments so you have tracking numbers there and then, if they sent you tracking at 8am, then pickup might be 5pm, so no info might show until its actually picked up and scanned into their system.

Give it until tomorrow, if nothing then I would enquire. UPS, DHL, FedEx have high quality tracking systems which are pretty much instant so doubt it would take 3 whole business days to show info.

also you may have been given the reference not the shipment number. Try using track by reference rather than tracking number if it still doesn't show.

Just tracked it this morning 'states 'pick up'. So I guess it's on its way......
