Hi,

As stated in my previous post, I’m just starting out on eBay selling Video games.

But what I want to know is how you eBay pro's go about printing you invoices and shipping labels off?

In the past when i sold anything on eBay (just general junk from around the house), i didn't send an invoice and i just coped and pasted the address into 'word' from eBay.

I got myself a ‘DYMO label writer 400’ and I want to use a special formatted label i created from there.

What about formatting the address (capitals etc) - or is this a manual job?

Sorry for the naivety

We download all sales via Aimco's Packaging Partner, this includes all of the information needed to pick and pack the order. From that data it generates a picking list, which we use to gather all of the required stock from the warehouse ready for packing.

The software can then be used to print the shipping labels. We have integrated labels, which are A4 sheets of paper with a sticky label at the bottom. The software generates an invoice for every sale and enters the address automatically onto the shipping label. Also on the shipping label we have our postage paid impression (PPI), see here for more details. The invoices are then printed and from there the orders are packed.

There's a little more to do with the PPI side of things before they're ready to ship, but that just about covers it.

What about adding a PayPal tracking number? Any way of automating this?

What about people that sell on Ebay, Amazon plus their own website? This is my eventual plan, so I don't want to get too used to using selling manager pro if it will not be any good for all sales.

Basicaly can anyone reccomend a way of keeping track of all sales, stock, and printing invoices for sales on Ebay, Amazon and own website?

The most expensive but probably best way is to use Sage Accounts & tradebox software. It links them all in one package, but it's ridiculously expensive.

The way we do it is with 2 pieces of software, Aimco Packing Partner & kashflow accounts package. Packing Partner will print your shipping labels from each site and your website. All sales that are paid by paypal are uploaded automatically into kashflow. To upload Amazon sales you wil need to download a csv file from them, convert it slightly in Excel and then upload it into Kashflow. You can then automatically e-mail all your invoices to your customers via Kashflow, you don't have to bother printing them and sending them with the package. If you are doing a lot of parcels it saves paper, ink and most important of all lots of time.
