I'd like to tribute this post to this THREAD of GOLD.

Having gleaned all the information I can from this, I now have a 'cost calculator' in excel. It is relatively simple, I type in all the cost incurred getting a product to me, I then factor in my desired GP and I have my 'RRP'.

This is easy to do when you have one product in a shipment, but how should I spread the cost of the shipping over 10 or so different products in one shipment.

They are not of equal value, and if I divide the cost by the number of different products, I will have some over inflated prices, and some that are nowhere near what they ought to be.

I can see another way of making it more realistic and that is to calculate the percentage of the total weight one product weighs.

Has anyone developed a system or strategy that works for them?

I hope this post is understandable, because I have a feeling it's as clear as mud.

You basically need to work out how much it costs per gram for you to ship the package. Then weigh one of each product so you can work out how much each weighs in grams. So if one product weighs 50g you times this by the cost per gram and then add this value to the unit price of the 50g product. You repeat this process for each of the products. That's how I do it anyway.

Thank you PT. So long as I'm barking up the right tree.

I will be working in KG's but obviously the process will be the same.

I appreciate the response.

Yes it would be the same, just wasn't sure how heavy your items were. Glad it helped.
