It doesn't, but that's part of the service that they provide. If you think of the quantities sitting gaining interest for PayPal adding a few extra days to the transit period is a sure fire way to optimise that income potential.

The 3-5 day period has been cut down now for UK banks and as Dean points out there is a faster service but you have to pay for the privilege. A good development, in my opinion.

I can afford to wait 4 - 5 days without handing the a fiver of my ill gotten gains! I suppose some may want the money quick.
