changes in shipping after payment- fraud?
My Story:
I set up an order with a Korean guitar manufacturer for about 28 guitars plus assorted parts.
I have a customs broker & a Korean sea cargo shipping company that I was going to use.
Sent the supplier 50% T/T.
I sent the supplier a routing order with the sea cargo shipping company's info. The supplier confirmed that he got the info.
So I thought that my order will be shipped via sea cargo LCL, since it is around 200 kg.
The shipping agent contacted the supplier during the time of manufacture to see what the current situation was with finished products. He mentioned that they were awaiting final payment.
Supplier emailed me saying order is finished & to please send balance payment. That he has the order as the sea cargo shipping yard. So, I sent the final payment.
My shipping agent contacted the supplier again for me.
The supplier did deliver part of the order to my shipping agent. But is was only 12 kg.
All during this time, I have requested shipping documents, to which I have never received anything.
Emailed the supplier last night. His response was that he will fax me the B/L if they can get it. I think the emphasis here is "IF".
This supplier knew all the time about a routing order to use my sea cargo shipping company.
Why would he say that they shipped it using a different cargo company & then give my shipping company the smallest shipping carton (12kgs)?
My shipping agent said that they had contacted this supplier about the main shipment, as to where it is at & what compnay had it. The supplier told them it was none of their business.
