Default Items with good profit margins...

Hi guys,
Im new to this forum, and must say its a great resource!

I started wholesaling about 18 months ago, only in small voumes, with a couple of orders of copy mp3 players etc.
Anyway im now looking to get back into it, and am after some items that yield some decent profit margins, and are pretty easy to sell (maybe a big ask i know). I was thinking popular items like ipods, ps3's etc but looking on ebay, there is alot of competition for these items especially ipods.
Plus it doesnt make it any easier being in Australia with shipping prices, as most suppliers seem to be in the UK, hong kong, US etc.
Any help would be great!
Thanks alot.

Can i ask have you thought about having your own website and selling through there?.

Ebay is cut-throat for competition and prices with regards to what your looking to sell.

If you've found suppliers in the UK or Usa, you could use Ebay in that country instead of shipping to Australia to sell there.

Just a thought because your not tied into selling on Australias Ebay in case you didnt know.

Yes if i get into it enough i will set up a website etc, but to start it will all solely be on ebay. I have looked at selling in another country via dropshipping, suppose i need to research other international markets for these items and sale prices etc.

Hi swilly01,

Have you taken a look at Oztion?
http://www.oztion.com

It's another option to eBay for aussie sellers.
They only have 172000 members but it's growing.
Anyway they have no listing fee's, only a final value fee if you sell your items.

Might be worth a look.

Jezz that is a good idea though it still leaves him with the problem with suppliers.

Isnt there any wholesale lists similar to the one on here in Australia?.

One of the best ways to promote your website if and when you get one is to have it linked via your ebay listings, however there is very strict rules on how you do this but done correctly your listings aswell as your site should benefit from it greatly.

Id of thought that using suppliers in HK or eastern Asia would of cost the same for us Brits using them no?.

Anyway good luck getting back into it and i hope with a little more research you find what your looking for.

Chris

Yes worth a look,it is growing. But like most alternatives it attracts a large percentage of sellers who at the moment seem to heavily outnumber the buyers.Fingers crossed.

The guy who invented "pet rocks" a decade or so ago had the right idea. Pick them up free and sell them.

If you want really good profits on the internet, you need some similar product. Something only you have access to, that you can sell for your price.

There are bound to be some local items you can introduce to the world. A local crafter/manufacturer.wholesaler with one or several unique items.

Then you would even have ebay to yourself. Plus put up an online store and ship wherever.

Ebay and the net in general are filled with "same old-same old" and "me too, just cheaper". Get out of that mindset and be an innovater, not another purveyor of high demand, low profit electronics or similar goods.
