I've been seeing and talking with a number of suppliers in China about iphones. One company quoted me $239 per unit and another quoted me $298. I know for a fact that iphones are getting into China, in large quantities, so do you think these prices are complete BS or is it possible? I'm going to order a sample to confirm validity, but maybe I can save myself the $. One website is www.oohoon.com
They have sent me pictures of bulk stock and individual close ups, but that doesn't prove anything really.
It is not possible to get genuine Apple iPhones from China, or any other branded product for that matter. The products are manufactured here, but the brand owners export and distribute their products themselves.
The pricing does also seem suspect, so I advise you do not deal with this company! There are numerous legitimate suppliers of iPhones on this forum, why not get in touch with one of them.
I am seriously thinking about doing business with some of the people on this site because I know them to be legit. The only problem is, that the UK iPhones cost more then the retail ones in the US. I can walk into a cingular/att store and buy them at $400 a piece without a problem.
Be careful when buying iphones. Right now it is extremely hard to get them wholesale if at all. Due to the demand most suppliers are charging a higher price. The best price is buying them from an Apple Store, at least from what I've seen.
There is a grey iPhone supply chain in china. They buy iPhones from US and have engineers decode the software in China, so the Chinese can use it with "Pinyin" for typing Chinese words.
