Halogens - light bulb.
Hey, just curiouse about purchasing large bulk of Halogen lights. Is there a market for this at the moment.
With everyone turning to light saving energy bulbs to decrease the risk of global warming in the next few years and the fact that these energy saving bulds are pretty much candles i thought in the future there may be a huge demand for high powerfull bulbs that we currently run off.
Any thoughts??

Halogen is now old technology. LED is replacing it as it is cheaper, lasts longer and better for the environment.
We have been talking to manufacturers about GU10 LED's.

A friend of mine sells GU10's, as well as a whole range of LED lights. There's a good market for them, he sells in bulks of 5, 10, 20, + on eBay and they do very well. I'd certainly advise looking into them further. I'll try and get him to pop onto here sometime, hopefully he'll be able to give you some advice.

That's what what we were looking at.
We are looking to MR16 and GU10 white, coloured and 7 colour (rgb) gradual fade versions retail version in our own blister.
We have 3 factories bidding for the business as we speak.

In the US the move is to Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs
Even out local power company is promoting in an effort to get people to switch over to them. I've been replacing the traditional ones for the laxt several years. The only real inconvenience is their swirl design makes lampshades hard to adjust.

Wal*Mart is committed to promoting them over the next 4 or 5 years in an effort to help hold down electrical production.
They are quite a bit more expensive, with regular bulb in the 4 or 6 pack costing a dollar or two, where these are sold in clam shell plastic packs of 6 or 8 and cost over $ 10 a pack. And they are a real bitch to store, as the clam shell is about a foot square.

my problem with the LED lights are the fact that they are not very powerfull (bright) and they take ages to become relativly bright. Arnt people going to cotton on to the fact that their not that great and just stick to the old halogen bulbs.
maybe i am wrong here, but this is just what i have heard.

You have heard wrong. An individual LED does not emit much light. when you have 20+ of them that's a different story.
