Hello all,

Just a simple question, are all gaming consoles region free by default? I know that X360 is region-coded, but are PS3, GBA, PSP, DS, Wii region free globally from the manufacturer?

I'm still a lil confused, I hope someone can clear this up a little.

PS3 is region free, actually the xbox 360 is mostly region free, wii is region locked, ds/psp/gba region free too, ps2 is region locked too I think

so wats the difference between PAL and NTSC? games, dvd, blue ray differences?

Blu-Ray is spilt into regions A for North America (Including Alaska and Hawaii) and Japan Region B EU, Middle East an AUS/NZ and Region C is Asia and other places i think the main differences in these are the 60Hz or 50Hz defending on country and 24Fps Fox has been the only TV/Movie studio to impose region codes in Blu-Ray so far.

I'm not sure about DVD and Normal Games(PS2, Wii, Xbox)

Yes a PS2 US NTSC console cannot play UK PAL games or movies and vice versa.
A NTSC PS3 can play PAL games but not PAL movies and vice versa.
360 s mostly region free for games but can't play DVD's from a different region.
A Wii region locked to PAL or NTSC and can only play PAL or NTSC games/movies depending on region
