Correct me if im wrong, but those are the prices that you will be able to buy off Apples site right? no need to then sign the contract?

http://www.apple.com/mobileme/features/

That is the most interesting thing about the new iphone, looks very promising.

The apple store will probably sell them (that's if they do!) for £499 sim free. I doubt you will be able to buy them anywhere without the phone being connected/contracted as I keep laboring, the £99 price tag is subsidised.

Just checking Engadget,

Like Apple did before, you will be able to buy the phones at $199 and $299 and take the phone home and activate it on your computer. This is where the unlocking comes in. No need to sign the contract in store.

Well either they are manufacturing the iPhone for £20 or they have seriously lost the plot. I doubt if it is any of those two.

I know, hmm, hard to get any real info about it yet.

The general word around is that they will be able to be bought from Apple and activated at home, no contract signup instore.

Well, untill there is definite word, no point in having guesses.

Ask yourself why you can not buy a top of the range Nokia phone for £50, take it home and connect it...... if you feel like it?

Can apple make you sign an agreement in store? I thought you had to do it in official verfied network stores?

I'm in the states and the word is (So Far) that Apple is making people sign new 2-year contracts even if you are a current customer.

Now i guess it's a race to see who can unlock the phone first after July 11th of course.

GPS feature is what makes me interested in it. If there will be a car-kit, then I'll finally go for it!
