what would everybody say the hottest products on the market are?

Depends on what you clarify as a hottest product? Units sold or sales volume?

Gambling & Porn is still the best money makers on the Net ;-)

anything that is original, attractive and you have the sole rights to sell.... if you find one spare let me know I could be tempted out of retirement.

But I have to agree with Andy 777...... Porn & Gambling are probably the two biggest money making items individually... add to that "anything illegal" and you probably have the top 3.

Biggests things on the internet, in no particular order...

Gambling, Porn (sex), Chatrooms, Torrent / Downloads / not paid for

The thing is, can you make money out of them? Proberly not, as there are a lot of other players doing it already.

Also a lot of the things that do well on the internet, happen to be breaking the law, its the nature of the beast.

Torrents/P2P are taking a battering and are always under someones spotlight
Downloads will always be available and some are trying to charge to download pirated software and films although many groups are moving towards different sharing possibilities.
Chatrooms are numerous and mostly free but there are some pay to join ones usually offering sex in one form or another. Specialist hosting is needed [which aint cheap] and you will be competing in a very aggressive market.
Gambling is always a money maker... if you have the financial backing to cover all bets or the know how to lay off the bets to limit your losses, again a very aggressive market and probably specialised hosting.
Porn [sex] again specialised hosting is required no matter what type of adult content you decide to upload for sale, the niche markets are money spinners if you can supply the right type and quality of product to satisfy your customers[no pun intended]. General porn is widely available free even here where most sites are censored and banned.
Illegal stuff will always sell, probably because of the price but also because of the atmosphere of getting something you shouldnt have... or before you should have it... or at a price you shouldnt be able to get it at. Temptation is the big magnet here..

Video games sell all the items its usually the blockbuster titles that sell the most or manage to make some real profit such as gta etc.

YES - although there are predictions that the market is set to shrink. Still a VERY big market though even after accounting for shrinkage.

the video game market is big thats why i am interested but you both answered my question video games would have to be the lwoest profitable industry for the stores but its what i enjoy doing

I can't believe porn is still so profitable you can get most of it free these days so what's the point in spending so much money on some pornstar and camera just to get it free on someone elses website.

EDIT - plus why would you want to entertain the "niche" markets of porn I'm not going to stand around with a camera whilst some tarts poo on each other even if i make a lot of money.
