For iphone, I agree you that it should be scammer if the sell give you ridiculous low price. Some people just sell copied Chinese mobile phone as original iphone. (it is same looking, but inner functions are different). I have a friend in Greece just got the bad experience, paid USD320 for two samples of iphone, but it's a scammer. Now everytime he find a new supplier, he'll ask me to help him to check it at first, then to decide to pay or not.

I don't agree your comments"don't buy consumer electronics from Asia".
1) for most branded mobile phones (except iphone), you can buy cheaper in HK in the retail shop than most of other places.
2) for Chinese mobile phone(not branded), if you buy from legitimate and big factories, it is worthy. Acceptable quality with lower price. It is more salable in South America, East Europe, and Aisan some developing countries. So it depends on you, what see what level product you want to sell.
3) Most the consumer electronics on the shelf of big supermarkets and retailers, are made in China, just OEM with different brands. I'm in consumer electronic field for several years. I know purchasing people from bestbuy, walmart, curtis, Radioshark and also Sharperimage etc from USA, and also Carrefore, Auchan from Europe, and many other importers with their own brands. They import large quantities from China factories, OEM with their brands. And many of them have buying offices in HK and China now.

So the main point is what kind of business you want to do. If you want to sell in large quantity, it's better to buy from big factories from China, to save cost. If you do retail, you could buy from your local wholesaler, or find a reliable person or company in HK or China, who can help you collect small quantity products.

Some people may have lost money by scammers from Asia. My suggestion is you check out the seller's company status as much as you can, before you start business with him. You can ask him for their registration certificate copy, their bank information, their detailed contact info, etc. And check with commercial community or government about it.
Work with legitimate companies. Don't pay by WestUnion until you know him well.

U def get what you pay for i agree.Iv seen loads of people give sellers on ebay negative feedback because they say the g-star jeans they bought for $60 were fake!!! Well hello what else did you think you were getting? I like a bargain like anyone but i only get the real thing. People who actually REALLY know about trends could spot ur fakes a mile off.So its the person whos wearing them that looks stupid!!

i've been paying a lot of attention to this site, and to be honest.. if you are looking for suppliers this is the wrong site. if you're looking for buyers it's paradise!

just because of the fact that every "i'm looking for phones" topic ends with some of the big cats of this site with prices that just makes you wanna pay for £10,- extra in the normal shops!

now i see this topic of an other big cat, and it makes me laugh how everybody is like: "yes, you're right!"

then write down the prices, go home.. and waste time on ebay, gumtree or wherever and then compare!

maybe you'll go home with only 3 up to 6 phones a day, but it's better than buying 20 phones of people being suggest on this site!

for wholesales who complain that their marge is low, then just switch to other costumers or sell a piece! cos you say 10 is no bulk, well sometimes i have 10 up to 25 at a time. i can be stupid and greedy to sell them quickly for £10,- profit an item or i chose to give small cats also a chance to buy so the price is still good for them to sell and i make £25,- or i just sell a piece to make £30,-

i've got 2 people from australia in my list for over 2 years and they've been scammed 2 times because they people take advantage of the fact they can't come to the usa or the uk! all other australia people in my list, till this very day they made some profit not by selling populair items (the phones and consoles etc.) but by memory cards and what so ever.

what i'm trying to say, i don't know about all you n00bs who don't have local suppliers but i bet all of you are never gonna do business or being scammed!

If you use a mobilephone less than 1years ,and want to get the fashion mobilephone at low price .I recommend chinese mobilephone to you.

i visited shenzhen chian last year . i know shenzhen is a large manufactory of mobilephone .Apparently,they are good at copy.but as said as Jabong82 ,they don't BRANDED as the same as the name brand.The most advantage is that the chinese phone is cheap. if you are a expert ,you can choose a good mobile at low price .

People on this forum make it look like you cant get iphones at prices such as 290 but believe it or not i got it from a local shop.

Thast simply the reason im looking for suppliers with larger stock.

i agree about firelfly 's option If you've done your verification checks properly , no need worry about T/T , Western union .

If the buyer and seller have trust between each other , all way is safe , just need to choose a suitable way for both . if no truth , no way is 100% safe .

I did that, but I spent all my horizon and now I can only see things that are really close up. Spending your horizon is ok but make sure you save a bit of it or you'll never see another sunset.
