Default Xbox Price Drop - Nintendo Wii To Follow?

Source: http://www.computerandvideogames.com....php?id=170424

Anyone started stocking up on Wii's to make a killing this Christmas?

Will the price decrease on all Xbox consoles affect Wii sales this year?

Do you think Nintendo will slash the price of the Wii finally?

If they do cut the price, what impacts could it have on us who plan to sell them for huge profits like last year which I missed out on.

I havent heard anything for Nintendo as far a price drop. But ALREADY people are having a hard time finding them here in the North East Americas. My wife and I bought one for the kids and bought an extra to resell. Each week were calling around places that may have them to buy and resell to hopefully make a good return on them.

Some places would say they have 14 all the way up to 28 but to come as soon as you can to get them because odds are theyll be gone by tomorrow. Its looking good for december!

A price drop is unlikely while the product is in such high demand.

Thanks for the replies.

Just thinking are people on here considering selling Xbox 360's this year rather than Wii's?

Just read an interesting article:
http://www.gamesindustry.biz/article...wing-price-cut

As Xbox 360's only cost £129.99 RRP and onwards for other models, their might be a demand for them but I'm not too convinved or experienced when it comes to in demand products.

Looking forward to your comments.

I would say to stick with the Wii. These are in huge demand, and with the run up to xmas, retailers and consumers are going to be doing all they can to get their hands on them.

However having said that, Xboxes will do very well due to the price drop.

I think I've got no choice but to stick with the Wii as I've bought two to sell before Christmas. The demand for the Wii has been a problem for the past two years before Christmas but not sure whether the trend will continue this year which is why I've only got two for the time being.

However the Wii Fit is likely to be a hit seller even though prices are dropping on eBay and I'm having a hard time of getting rid of four I've got for £90! But I'm sure there will be loads of people out to buy one for Christmas presents just like the Wii last year so I'm planning to hold on to two for the time being. Possibly sell them bundled with the Wii if things don't go according to plan.

I'm fairly new to all this, only started last year and missed out on the chance of selling Wii's but did manage to sell Wii Play during the festive period, didn't make a killing but want to do so this year

I would suggest laying out a plan of attack. You need to think carefully before spending your money on getting stock in.

I think sticking with Nintendo for xmas is definitely the way to go. The trend from last year was that the majority of consumers were purchasing Wii and DS consoles and i very much belive that it will be the same case this year.

Having said that, i certainly think there is money to be made on selling games like Wii Play & accessories like the Wii Nunchucks & Remotes.
