I would say a true wholesale price is 40-50% of retail, definately not 20%!
A product that cost £20 will not retail at £100!
If the Hilfiger is quite current stock than the price is actually quite good. Dont forget if you are getting products like jackets etc, this will reduce the unit cost on products such as shirts etc...because you will be ovbiously able to sell jackets and jeans at a higher price.
On the subject of Ebay, it is definately possible to sell authentic products at reasonable prices. Sure lots of people dont care about authenticity, however because Ebay has so much trafic you will normally find someone that will pay genuine prices. On of our main sellers on Ebay is our Diesel t-shirts and we actually sell them for more expensive than on our site due to fees and shipping. I think it really depends on how you approach Ebay, we take the time and effort with photographs and setting out a proffesional format for our auction, we also makesure that we highlight our authenticity guarantee, company number etc... basically anything to help people have more confidence with their purchases.
