Do HongKong supply Branded products?
Hello Guys,
Ive just joined alibaba. There are many suppliers that are based in HongKong. Ive been told many times that China do not sell branded products, but I was just wondering if it was the same for hongkong?
Can you get Legit Branded goods from hongkong?
Thanks In Advance

Hi Dave
You can get branded goods from Hong Kong but be carefull, just because they are HK based does not mean its not a scam, any Chinese scamer could cross over to HK so just make sure your prices are realistic. Check on ebay, compare the prices you have been given with HK sellers on ebay.
Wherever you go your not going to find Wii Fits for $50.

A gold member is a good thing but its not fool proof it just means the person you are dealing with has paid for the membership but lots of scammers can afford it because its only one or two scams and its paid for.
You can do various checks on supplier, check the company regsitration, check the bank accounts - are they in the businesses name? I have no interest in Game console accessories if you would like me to give you my opinion on any suppliers you have found give me a shout.

Re: Do HongKong supply Branded products?
The Kowloon area of Hong Kong is where you will find a large percentage of wholesale suppliers. uhafmail makes a very good point in that, just because suppliers are in Hong Kong (or anywhere for that matter) it doesn't mean you shouldn't perform due diligence before purchasing from a new supplier. You've got one thing right, which is, well known branded products from China is a no no.
There are several community advertisers on this forum that are from Hong Kong, one has even posted in this thread. They should be able to source what you are looking for.

Re: Do HongKong supply Branded products?
I travel to Hong Kong regularly and you can take a trip to Canton Road, kowloon and you will find rows of shops selling original branded electronics. The catch is the warranty will only apply to Hong kong and not worldwide. Also the prices are NOT 50% cheaper than what you will find in UK. As for HK companies selling on alibaba, most chinese sellers register themselves as a HK company where in fact they are based in Mainland China. So perform your normal due dilligence, just ask them to scan and send over their HK Business registration certificate.

Hey, guess what, those electronics shops in Canton Road are for tourists only because the prices have been marked up. Local people wouldn't buy consumer electronics there.
Next time when you come to Hong Kong, you may try Boardway or Fortress. I dare not to say they are the cheapest in town, but the price would be a bit more reasonable, and guaranteed official goods. Mainlanders buy gadgets there.
However, If you are looking for made-in-china dual sim mobile phones, there's another place to go
