as for the dev team releasing free unlock for the iphone 3g, even if that happens rebel sim can be used on many other handsets, and not every one will have the techie mindset to do it to their own iphone, so people will charge for the service,... any how i highly doubt nobody will be interested in rebelsims, theres no need for wild comments,

Yeah, I think I'd only purchase the ones that work with Firmware 2.2.
I will have a look into it. They do look quite good and there are many videos showing they work. You can even purchase them with USB programmers now to update them.

i dont know why people buy these things?
I just unlocked my iphone 2.2 firmware with the click of a button from my computer, using freeware I downloaded today!
But i suppose theres always some that would pay and wait for postage to unlock their phones, rather than just doing a little bit of browsing on the internet!

There for the 3G iPhone, this can't be unlocked using freeware. I think the only thing you can use is the trubo SIM, i think.

Re: RebelSim / Turbo Sim
Used to unlock a lot of mobiles several years ago and although there is free sw available for many phones, normally people cause as many problems by using it incorrectly than they solve, most people prefer to pay a professional to sort it out on the spot.
I always offered to buy a new phone if I killed it unlocking it, never had to do it more than twice, but they were my own phones "experimenting" with some new software, the results of which made a lot of money for myself.
I reckon most "normal" clients looking for an unlock will always prefer to go to a professional to get it done correctly.
