Hi all,

I have had some torrid times with Chinese phones over the years, but I do believe there must be a model out there thats good. I know its like searching for the Holy Grail, but surely someone on this forum must know of a Chinese company that makes good quality phones? I heard CECT are a contender, but apart from that there isnt anything on the web.

I subscribe to Which and usually read their reviews before buying any products. However, there doesnt seem to be thorough review of phones made by Chinese companies.

You're a star and may your childrens children live forever if you can point me to a good quality phone made by a Chinese company.

the alternative is to buy all cheap models myself and subject them to a stress test and create a website reviewing them all....now there's an idea!

It really depends on what you are looking for i think. Do you want phones that are clearly inspired by the big companies? Do you want advanced mobile phones, camera, TV, etc or just basic ones?

I've been there and bought the shirt with Chinese phones (lost about £1000 to date). So trust me when I say it doesnt really matter what the spec is. The ones I've tried (low spec or otherwise) all shared the following:
- Questionable construction quality
- Poor sound quality, sometimes you couldn't hear person at the other properly
- Reception issues, all phones I tried (more than 20!) dropped calls randomly
- Phones got hot too quickly, probably not tested to comply with FCC or CE standard
- Most of the chargers were flimsy and broke easliy

Just to mention a few! So I am looking for phones made by Chinese companies that do not have any of the above negatives. Yes not all Nokia phones are brilliant, but I bet you I can find plenty of Nokia models that dont have any of the above issues!

So I am just looking for just a couple of Chinese phone models that satisfy my criteria and hence the Holy Grail!! Can you point me to one?

We have only just started looking into mobile phones. The build quality and responsivness is very good. i cant talk about call quality as the 20 or so phones we had sold in a few hours but we are getting in a larger shipment next week if you are interested. Do a search on the foum for Mini Iphone there are some comments from the few customers we had.

Thanks Mr Pete. Since you and uhafmail seem to deal in a lot of Chinese phones, let me make a specific request.

Do any of you have any phone models that have functioning dual-sims for less than £50 that meet my quality criteria? By functioning dual-sims I mean phones that can receive calls from 2 sims at same time and not having to switch phone off to use the other sim. If you do then please PM and I will see what we can sort out. Oh and they have to have a camera and thats all. Nothing fancy just bare minimum.

We have big problem in Sudan, you can't function unless you have access to at least 2 mobile networks. Otherwise your stuffed!
