Is it safe to buy phones from China?

I am from Kuwait, want to buy this phone, http://www.mobigarden.com/products/229172.html, but they asked me to pay first, is it safe to pay them? They said they accept paypal, but I don't have one, then they want me to pay them via Western Union, I think it is very risky to pay them this way. But I really like the phone and the price is cheap. Is there anyone ever ordered phones from this web site? Are they real seller? Can anyone give me suggestions?

Personally I wouldn't touch them as it states they accept Paypal at the top of the website but this is not listed on the 'Payment' page? Either they do or they don't.

I personally associate Western Union payment requests as scammers as they can collect the money easy and it's not that tracable.

But original Vertu is too expensive for me. I have one Fake Vertu also, it is good copy anyway. I will talk to them again tomorrow, maybe I will try to register paypal and try to buy from them, it should be safe if I use paypal to pay them.

In all honesty, the payment method is irrelevant. If they are going to scam you, they will scam you.
However, you shouldn't be buying 'replica' or 'fake' anything. There is a high possibility they will be stopped at customs and destroyed.

I wouldn't say payment is irrelevant as at least you have some protection using paypal or a credit card?

You do have some protection yes, but it is getting that money back.
People take the opinion that if they are using PayPal, they must be legit.

Do your checks first before sending any payment be it PayPal or not.

One of my friends have paypal, he always shops on line, he said it is safe to pay via paypal, becaue I can get refund if I don't get anything after I pay. I think I will try paypal.

You are asking the wrong question.

The question should not be "Is it safe to buy phones from China", because it is, many here do it daily.

The question you need to ask is "Is it safe to buy phones from this guy?"

I haven't even looked, but from what those who have looked say, my answer would be no.

And if you are going to buy anyway, why even bother to ask.
