Current situation on I9's etc.
Just wondering what is the current situation on I9 phones and customs, are they destroying them or is this just rumour?
As long as they have no Apple logo, they are simply a touch screen phone?

Yeah - pray they dont inspect the box - they are iphone clones with or without a logo and are fair game as far as customs are concerned

Re: Current situation on I9's etc.
So there is absolutely no point in importing them in that case, if you buy say 100 from China you're down £5,000.
This is surely legally a grey area?

Well, it depends on whether or not you think the risk is worth it.
You are right that it is a grey area in that it has yet to be tested in court as far as I am aware.

You know what they say; "big risk, big reward"
Due to the customs problems UK located stock would be snapped up in a second, but you've got to decide if that's worth the risk of loosing the stock all together

To quote and old friend, David Byrne, it's the same as it ever was.
You pay your money and you take your chances.

Re: Current situation on I9's etc.
Not sure of big rewards, for example if you order 100 I9's and get them for say £40 each + VAT and you sell for £60 - £70 less VAT.
If the consignment is carried with by DHL as opposed to Royal Mail won't they do their own customs declaration instead of customs inspecting packages in a Royal Mail centre?

Which isn't a bad profit in comparison to other products.
