Default Re: Fake Michael Jackson items

I don't feel they are fake i know they are fake i knew that within 5 mins of discovering them on the net the other week. Also inferno puzzles me with his comment about a english version because no official briefcase format release exists.
Secondly i was only intent on buying it for myself anyway but the bottom line is still about people here selling to make a living and livelihoods exist on this premise. Plenty of satisfied customers out there with fake goods rem. Ethics are for people who can afford them sometimes. Where is the ethics of leaving people to rot homeless or that chicken you bought from kentucky fried it just goes on it was not the issue here. A good deal of people here will be making their money from dealing in fake products but i don't need to mention that fact anyway.

I think you are mixing 'unbranded' with 'fakes' as everyone knows full well that Anthony wouldnt allow fakes to be sold - it would damage the reputation of the forum.

Plus you say that people are here to make a living. Theres a very big difference between an honest living, and a dishonest living. I could triple, if not quadruple the money I make by importing $5 fake Ralph Lauren shirts and selling them for ridiculous amounts, but I'm an honest person. Same applies to these products.

Business ethics can pretty much apply to everything - UK or China supplier, child labour to reduce costs, exploiting minumum wage, testing on animals, supplying counterfeit goods.
Therefore this has something to do with ethics - different people, and companies, will have contrasting opinions on what they see is acceptable and what isnt - just look at the cosmetics industry, theres a clear divide over whether animal testing is right or wrong.

If you feel selling fake goods to profit from MJ's death, then thats you. You just have a view that conflicts with many, if not all, of the people on the forums.

Woodley how can you say those items are unbranded goods?
So many people will be profiting from mj's death whether officially or unofficially that is the business that it is say whatever else you will. In the music business you are selling yourself as a product you become a commodity item so to speak.
As far as honesty goes that again can be a point of view situation only.
If i go into a store and steal a chicken you could call me dishonest for that act however i would turn around to you and say what right did they have to kill that chicken to make a profit in the first place!

Killing and then selling chicken is nothing like selling non-genuine items.
The consumers in KFC know what they are getting - fatty chicken.
But passing copies of a product off as genuine, and then duping TRUE fans is nothing like the whole 'KFC chicken'.
If KFC were substituting ALL the chicken for 100% fake meat, then by all means make the comparison.

I think its ok for a 'fan' to sell their memorabilia to others who can put it to good use, but selling FAKE MJ goods is a big no no for me.

We arent going to agree here. You are the vulture preying on possibly grieving fans by considering offering them fake goods when they think they are getting the real deal.
Thats where both our ideas of what 'acceptable' is differs immensely.
You may not agree that a chicken shouldnt be killed. Then a lion is unethical as well according to your argument. And that man who pulls a carrot from the ground is also unethical, for not allowing the carrot to prolong its life.

We have canine teeth for a reason - to eat meat.
We dont have the internet and ebay to sell counterfeit goods.
Thats where your argument has a significant flaw.

You brought up the subject of ethics and dishonesty so my reference with chickens was just a example of what people from their viewpoint consider acceptable practice! Secondly i am not selling the things i clarified that point before also. The fact is a lot of unofficial bootleg material is much better value for money to the fan than officially released product. Plus it has that resell value to them also. Whether this stuff is i don't know but what would you rather have a official live album made up of cuts of songs from 3 different shows or a unofficial release of a whole concert uncut?
You are coming at me from a very one dimensional viewpoint in your arguments i have to say.

NO ONE on the forum will understand where you are coming from!
You are attempting to justify selling counterfeit goods...which is NOT tolerated here!

Below are some examples of how STUPID you are being:

Counterfeit goods are NOT better value for money.
They may come cheaper, but that is evident in the quality - hence why OFFICIAL goods will be more expensive, so it is plain stupid to justify your point.

No. It has resell value for unscrupulous people like yourself who will attempt to pass it off as authentic.
Its like the whole Ralph Lauren shirt scenario - get them in from China for $8, sell them in the UK for £20 as authentic, regardless of the poor quality. Its pathetic and unethical.

I'd rather have the official released live album thank you very much.
Not only would it be well cut, it wouldnt be dodgy gear.
Its like pirate DVDs - start a poll on the forums asking whether people would rather buy official Blu-Ray and DVDs from the numerous sellers on the forum, or would they rather buy your dodgy 'back of the cinema' recordings for a few pound at a time.

ForumReader, stop digging a huge hole for yourself. You've got on the wrong side of SO many people, and has got to the point where forum moderators have picked up on your behaviour.
It would be best if you stopped now, realised your mistake, and change your ways.
If you still believe its acceptable to sell counterfeit goods because its 'oh so much better value for money' then please send us all a message of any website or ebay account you own so we can all avoid your dodgy, unscrupulous dealings.
