These are very difficult questions as the quality etc differs from each manufacturer.

As you have been told previously, without specific models, its impossible to give a defect ratio to you. As with any product, some are more problematic than others. Your supplier however should cover you on the warranty basis.

Just remember, you get what you pay for. The MP3/ MP4 players may look the same, but there's many factories in China that manufacturer them and the quality can differ hugely. You're best to get in contact with as many possible suppliers as you can, shortlist those which you have contacted and order samples from each so you can inspect them yourself.

Having said that, from my experience the REAL factories manufacturing these products have minimum orders of 500 - 1000pcs upwards, so it's not likely they'll accept an order of 100pcs. There's plenty of trading companies offering these products though, with much lower minimum order requirements.

In your shoes I would probably get in contact with one of the reputable suppliers of these products here on the forum, such as Ian/Hardware Heroes. For very little differnece in price you can be assured they've done the hard work for you.

This is an excellent point and one that we see many snub their nose at.

Sourcing from China can be a daunting process, especially for those inexperienced. Ordering first from a local supplier that has already done it, albeit for slightly more cost per unit than if you were going direct, is usually a smart move to begin with.

I think you are right, but it was my hope that some of the expirienced exporters will
share their expirence and I am not talking about telling the suppliers name, but on the other way this is business secret for them, so ok, if nobody want to tell this.

Many don't make it to 30 days, let alone a year. And many of the sources are out of business, or using a new name by then, so you are stuck with a load of crappy goods.

But there are also good suppliers / factories. I can count on my fingers the mp3s and mp4s I have had come back as warranty claims. That is after nearly a year selling them and shipping out thousands.

But I do not sell cheap stuff and I do not sell good stuff cheap, I sell good stuff at a good price.

You can find any quality and any price you want in China, and if you do not find one cheap enough, someone will find one more place to cut and make one for you even cheaper.

It's what they do.

The only problem is that if you source them from local supplier than the is
not place for priofit, because all you competitors source them from China
for much better price.
