Re: Margins?
Here is an easy way to look at it. If it carries a profit and you can sell enough to make it worth your time and overhead than it is good.
Say there is a product you buy for €1 and it retails for €10,000, but if there is no demand than what good is that profit margin?
But on the other hand a product you can buy for €1 and retails for €1.10 but you can sell 10,000 a day than that would be a good profit margin.

Re: Margins?
all depends how much capital you've got really.
I look to take a final nett of 20% minimum but look for final nett to be 50% of the sale price ideally. I wouldn't even consider moving in the sub 10% markets that seem so popular because as far as I'm concerned my level of capital just doesn't make it viable.

Margin is a percenage not an amount. Look at it this way if I've got 100k for stock and I turn it all over in a month, if I run on a 1% margin I can only make £1000 that month. If I net 30% I make 30k that month.
So I care about margin, thats who.

I have a product (well it comes as a pair) which cost about $1.53 and I sell them for £19.99.
You would probably struggle to make that margin on a product costing £100.
