Can I sell goods without CE certification?
I know there was a thread here somewhere about this but I've looked again and cannot find it. I'm thinking of selling a bunch of different ipod/iphone accessories, most of which are non electric, however the range does include a power adaptor, headphone and a car charger. The manufacturer said my order is not large enough for him to get a CE cert for the items. Is it legal to sell the mentioned items without CE certification?

Re: Can I sell goods without CE certification?
As Andy has stated, that would be illegal.

Re: Can I sell goods without CE certification?
If customs stop them and inspect them, they will be connfiscated and destroyed, if trading standards find them , they will confiscate them and destroy them.
If just one of your chargers gives someone a shock or burns down a house, it will destroy you

Re: Can I sell goods without CE certification?
If the manufacturer produced them to CE standards, they would have a generic CE, using their own reference numbers.
Their reaction means they do not produce to standards, so avoid - your goods could be confiscated and you could be fined.
If they do not have CE, how do you know the other products (especially the adaptor) meets other standards, such as LVD, RoHs etc?

Re: Can I sell goods without CE certification?
Studio1one, it is easier to say, in this instance, if it connects to electricity, it needs CE and other approvals.

Strictly speaking, this is an illegal. You need to confirm with suplier before you ordering if you really need CE certificate. They will not offer if you order small quantity. Actually, they don't have any certificates. So they told you that you gave them samll order.
