Barcode Image Generation - Help ?

Hi All,

I've struck a bit of a problem when doing some packaging for some of our products which we will start retailing in shops next year.

Basically... We've signed up to the GS1 Barcode company and generated EAN-13 numbers for all of our products. However, now we've hit a problem when making the box artwork. How do we create a 300dpi resolution barcode that is generated from the EAN-13 number we've got?

Obviously the barcodes need to be a certain size etc and we need them in 300dpi for printing. Can I do this simply from a font or will I need to purchase some software.

Retail is very new to us to any help would be appreciated!

It will only be a few for now, but I will need some in the future doing so It might be best for me to invest in the software. If you could do the initial one it would be much appreciated!!

The EAN code is 506020770001 .... With the Check Digit added it's 5060207700016.

We have a plugin for some design software we use.

Ah right, thats a shame.

Hmmm, I'll have to have a look around.

I'm using Photoshop / Illustrator, but I'm not a designer myself. I'm a coder! I've asked our designer to have a look into it and see if he can get any software from anywhere. I'm looking at all these different pieces of software and wondering if they are correct or not!

I'll contact Wasp Technologies on Monday because they provide us with all our barcode printers. Unfortunately, they create the barcode on the fly so I can't just copy them out at a high resolution.

There are some common $9.95 label printing packages that will do them, if I'm not mistaken. Something like "My Labelmaker".

As well as the bars, you must allow a specified white area around them.
