Setting up an account is the easiest thing as the pricing you will receive is based on the quantities you buy. We have an account with Gem and at the start I must admit there prices were more expensive than some of the large retailers. I still placed a few orders and after a few more orders my sales rep sent me a different price list. There was a slight difference but its all extra profit.

The problem with these people that say there prices are "retail" is that they expect the earth when buying 1-2 units.

I sort of smile to myself when in my local Sam's Club (a wholesale division of Wal-Mart) and see Ingram shown as the supplier on a number of computer related items. They are selling to the world's largest retailer for resale at "wholesale" and you say Ingram sells at retail?

Like a lot of companies, with Ingram and TechData (the other biggie), cash talks.

BTW, the Ingram family also owns what is probably the biggest book distribuion company in the world, as well. They have receiving it in one door, breaking it down and shipping it out another door down pat.
I see what your saying, I'm registered with Ingram micro UK and i never actually asked them for wholesale quotes (i don't know why ), perhaps that's why i said that, My bad, i will find out first next time about things like this.
