Default Niche Marketing

When thinking about how to choose niche market, don't get hung up on attempting to niche with a specific product or brand.

Niches can also be lifestyle or psychographic. Here is an example of a lifestyle niche website.

How can you identify a niche if you know nothing about the general group? For instance i have a general area as a hobby, but I can't find a niche within that. Should i look to other areas?

The area is computers. I have looked at selling hardware but there seems to be too much competition, and a few advise against it as the margins are too slim and you won't make much profit.

Way too broad. You need to focus it a bit more.

I have looked at niches within the area. For instance i looked at selling but there does not seem to be enough buying in that area.

Other than that I'm all out. What should i be looking for? If i have asked for too much, any help would be great.

Okay, it seems you're all over the place. Let me ask you - What do you have an interest in and also know a lot about? What can you educate others about?

So it does relate to my area of knowledge.

My area of knowledge is building pcs, helping friends with computer problems, upgrading etc. I know a fair bit about films, and like watching them. Other than that i don't really have any hobbies.
