Default starting an ecommerce store...

hi yall,

I'm planning on starting an internet store, and in the process of looking for a web host. What kind of things do I need to know when looking for one? I got no idea on how to go about this but I think I might outsource the web building process. Just need some good advice to on picking best web host for online store.

Hey,

I'm a webdesigner and own a hosting company myself, basically, If your looking for hosting, you need to know how much space you are going to need for your site, and how much bandwidth you are going to use (Traffic going to your site).

If you are expecting a lot of clients on your site, for a decent host with a fast server and not many clients on it, your looking at around £70 a year +. If your looking for a package that is more basic just to see how you get a long, you probably want to spend between £25 - £35 a year.

Make sure you get a host that doesn't have a lot of clients on one server, and don't buy from a lot of companies that sell domain names (such as 1&1 and Godaddy) because there servers are slow and crash alot due to the ammount of clients them cram into their servers.

Does this help you ?

www.betterwebspace.com sell good hosting packages for new starters and larger companies.

Prices start at £1 a month!

As for your domain name then, as mention godaddy is good and 1&1 also

There are many hosts out there , you should take a look at many and get a referral too so you know the company is reputable.

I too recommend godaddy.com for domains. (google search for coupons to get discount!)

Just something to add to that, don't use any domain company as your host!! Especially godaddy, they over cram their servers and they run slow and go offline a lot.

what are you selling? are you dropshipping or selling your own products?
Dont spend a lot of your cart - save it for design as you can get shopping carts for free.

Thumbs up Web hosting

Hi,
Myself and my business patner began setting up our business back in January. We looked at a lot of different host and found IX Webhosting to be reasonable and they have kept to there promise of 99.99% up time. I have had no issues to date and find that there support team are fast to reply and are rather helpful.
