Default Looking at setting up new business. eBay or own site?

I am just looking for a few different opinions here, I am looking at setting up a new business of my own selling video games. What I want to know, it should I start by setting up my own eBay shop or should I set up my own site, for example using goldentemplatestore.com or oscommerce???

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks, Dave

Set-up both shops, eBay and an online shop

AS for your preference in which way to go with your online then I'd choose osc as it is easy to work with and lots of support on their forums if things go wrong!

Having a website is cheaper than a eBay Shop in my opinion.

Use both. Make sure games are cheaper on your own website and say in your listings something along the lines of "10% off for buying direct from the site" and have it as a hyperlink.

That will get your listings removed and ultimately your account banned from Ebay. Read Ebay Linking for a guide to what is actually allowed.

Ah, my bad. I haven't used ebay for many moons. I prefer amazon.
