Default Starting an online business...am I late?

Hello. I want to start an online business. Thinking of selling products on ebay and froogle. Looking for someone to show me how. I also don't have much risk capital. Interested in drop shipping. Is it too late? Is the competition too much? That is how it appears to me. What is a good product to sell? Where do I find a good drop shipper or supplier? Here is what I know:

Low shipping cost products are good to sell. Like games, small electronics, books. But prices on ebay are very low. How can I beat those guys? There's got to be tons of other people doing this. I prefer not to leave my house for finding products. Want to do it all online.

Thanks.

Welcome abe.

You're never late. But you do have a lot of catching up to do.

There is all sorts of info on this forum. Just spend some time. There will not be anyone take you by the hand, nor will they give you their "secret sources", but they will share experiences and knowledge with you.

You best bet is to go through each section and read the stickies. That would get you some basic understanding of what's going on. Start there and then start asking questions.

Try looking into surplus stock and selling on a local level - even through ebay or other channels. There are many closeout/liquidation companies in the States ( I've worked with some over there) buy a little stock at a time and resell to the public for a small profit....nothing to greedy, just something to give you a start and more importantly an understanding of how you want to work.

All the best and good luck!!!!

yeah good luck mate, bit of advice though

for you to know what your going against, look at prices and what the sellers are saying and showing, because a simple few words can put you i the drain before you even started.

make sure you give your customer near to all the details as possible so they feel confident in you and the product as trust is one of the main reasons buyers buy from you.

look how things are worded on these sites, because i can bet you that if you change words / how they are spelt etc that the search on eBay and such like comes up with different items each time.

Try buying on Ebay and selling at another venue like your own site or market/car boot etc etc.

I buy one particular item off Ebay and resell on one of my sites for at least 200% markup, I'm simply taking advantage of Ebays saturation in certain areas.

Thanks everyone for the excellent advice. I think I will look deeper into liquidations and finding bargains on ebay.
