Ive been interested in business for a long time but only ever did any real selling about a year ago.

When the Wii was released last year in europe, i took a massive risk, went to a store in my town on the morning of release and bought 5. By that afternoon i had sold and shipped them all, i then went back and bought 10. In the first week i had shifted 30 units as no one here in cyprus was interested and the shops couldnt sell them quick enough. I was making an average of £150 profit a unit. Once christmas was over i had made just over £14,000. However, being only 17, this money hasnt lasted long

Ive now moved onto something new. I was at a local TV auction the other day, i managed to get 6 big pub tv screens for £100. 4 of them worked after about an hour of tinkling around and the othre 2 are being fixed as i type. Ive had a few offers from various people but im looking to sell them on for £400 each.

And thats how i make my money.

Matt

2 months sales $ 40,000.

ha, that's so funny. I've been hunting down a really cheap supply for these. I got an RMU booked at a mall near me for the month up to christmas and thats the item I want in there the most.

I was 21 and bumped into a guy who was owner of a large PR/Promotional company. They supplied promotional merchandise to big brands like Budweiser, Coca Cola etc. He wanted to source Plain White T-Shirts from outside the UK for printing so I blagged it that I knew a factory in India. A month later after making a few phone calls I got the T-Shirt sampled and went for my first proper boardroom type business meeting with these guys in London. I was living in Leicester then and used my £500 credit card limit to fund buying a new suit, book my train from Leics to London and 1 night budget hotel in Victoria.

At the end, I got a contract to supply the T-Shirts and it was my first deal and it was worth £20,000. It wasn't easy, I lived with my parents then and had to grovel to my dad who in turn re-mortgaged the house to get the cash to pay supplier in India. Still to this day I supply the same firm with a host of promotional related merchandise.

At the age of about 14, I got a bug to want to make money. I started off buying and selling old football programmes. Made a few quid, pocket money type stuff nothing major. Then I started to search ebay with the aim of selling mobiles, laptops etc as I assumed thats where the big money was. How wrong I was and after much wasted funds on the many £2-5 guides I gave up.

I'm a Leeds United fan (dont laugh) and living down south it costs alot of money to go up to Elland Road every fews weeks. To subsidise these trips, I used to collect the autographs of the players and then sell on ebay, just to pay for the tickets, food, parents petrol costs. After doing this for a few seasons, I noticed it was a constant sale line.

After leaving school at 18 and going to University I started to going around football clubs, hotels, sports grounds, premieres on my days off collecting autographs from the stars. Anyway 3 years later I now have my own retail website and a massive customer base worldwide. I've been involved in some major signing sessions with some big name Premiership and ex stars and thing are going well.

I finished University last month and I'm contemplating whether to go full time or not. I've dabbled in alot of things from DVDs, Phones to computer games and the memorabilia game for me has been the most profitable by a country mile. Alot of the money made over the 3 years has been reinvested in stock and I now have a nice little collection to really get my business going properly.

The satisfaction of making sale and is one of the best in my opinion.

Memorabilia probably isnt wholesale related, but thats how I made my 1st £1,000s
