Post Microsoft Still Chasing Yahoo!

Quote:
Just weeks after withdrawing its $47.5 billion offer for Yahoo, Microsoft has confirmed that it's back talking with the company over a different kind of deal.
Quote:

To date, Yahoo has rebuffed all Microsoft offers and threats, including the bumped up final offer of $47.5 billion.

They released the following statement:

“In light of developments since the withdrawal of the Microsoft proposal to acquire Yahoo! Inc., Microsoft announced that it is continuing to explore and pursue its alternatives to improve and expand its online services and advertising business. Microsoft is considering and has raised with Yahoo! an alternative that would involve a transaction with Yahoo! but not an acquisition of all of Yahoo! Microsoft is not proposing to make a new bid to acquire all of Yahoo! at this time, but reserves the right to reconsider that alternative depending on future developments and discussions that may take place with Yahoo! or discussions with shareholders of Yahoo! or Microsoft or with other third parties.

“There of course can be no assurance that any transaction will result from these discussions.”

A backward step from the claims that "negotiations were over" just a few weeks ago!?

Also, has anybody seen head honcho Steve Balmer in this video?

Does anybody know when this was? or even why he acted like this? As the title suggests, he's nuts! Great 80's tune in the background tho!

I think that microsoft were a little miffed that Yahoo turned them down - but then started to get worried when the link ups between Google and Yahoo have had press.

Maybe they are sitting there thinking about why Yahoo wasnt interested in being bought out and then rebranded as a M$ product.
